June, 2019  Home -Care Worker: Mental Health

The Home-Care Worker is employed on the basis of personal aptitude and must be able to understand the dimensions of mental illness.  Education and experience working with individuals with mental health issues is preferred. This position offers great experience for students in Psychology, Social Work, Nursing or Education programs.

Worksite:  1100 Guns Rd., Green Bay

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist clients in learning independent community living skills in the areas of grocery shopping and cleaning.
  • Provide the majority of services in the client’s home or community settings.
  • Assist the client in participating fully in community life through a variety of social and recreational activities.
  • Develop or teach strategies to promote client wellness and independence.
  • Accompany clients ti acquire services, facilitate communication and report back to case manager.
  • Monitor/observe client’s medication adherence.
  • Participate in agency orientation and training programs , including staff meetings.
  • Maintain accurate records as instructed by the CSP Director and Clinical Coordinator regarding any changes sin the client’s status.
  • Work within a flexible schedule as required.

Job Qualifications

  • Compassionate and hard-working
  • Excels in a team environment
  • Experience with mental illness is a plus, but not required
  • CBRF training is preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Age 18 or older with a valid Wisconsin driver’s license and good driving record

Pay

$12.00 per hour – $13.00 per hour.
